Join us for a talk from Anne Hillerman.
Author talk: 7:30pm
Beloved fictional heroine and amateur sleuth, Nancy Drew, turned 90 in 2020. To celebrate, this year’s Clearview Reads includes all things mystery.
Author Anne Hillerman will meet with the Clearview Library District community via Zoom to discuss mystery writing and the influence she experienced from Nancy Drew books.
After a career in journalism and non-fiction, Hillerman switched to fiction following the death of her father — Tony Hillerman — because she knew his characters had more crimes to solve. Her debut mystery, Spider Woman’s Daughter, was honored with the Spur award as best first novel by Western Writers of America. That book, and those that followed, were all New York Times best sellers.
Hillerman’s sixth mystery, Stargazer, is set for release in April 2021. The book takes readers to the Alamo Navajo community and the Very Large Array radio telescope observatory as Officer Bernadette Manuelito investigates the possible suicide of a well-known astronomer.
